The Women and Children's Center

Caring for the special needs of women at every stage of life is the focus of The Women and Children's Center at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.

Separate from the main hospital, private and with easily-accessible parking, the center's experienced team of medical professionals coordinate care in areas of obstetrics and gynecology, labor and delivery and urology, with special attention to childbirth and breast care.

The Women and Children's Center includes:

• 12 large LDRP suites (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum)
• Two operating rooms
• Six medical/surgical beds
• Four exam/triage rooms

Childbirth

The private labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum suites at The Women and Children's Center are fully equipped with advanced technology and comfortably arranged to provide a pleasant environment for labor and those first days after birth.

While complications are never desired, it is reassuring to know your hospital is equipped to handle any emergency. The obstetrical team has significant experience in managing the difficulties that can arise during childbirth.

New parents whose baby requires special attention can be reassured by the expertise available from our NICU trained nurses and on-staff neonatologists, physicians that specialize in newborn care.

Family-focused Education Classes and Health Screenings

The importance of education is emphasized at The Women and Children's Center. Prenatal classes, childbirth education classes, health screenings and patient education seminars on women's health topics are offered.  At The Women and Children's Center at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, caring professionals, whose focus is you, treat each patient with compassion and dignity.
