Lakewood Ranch Medical Center® (LWRMC) is the hospital of choice for many families in the Manatee-Sarasota region. The hospital has earned the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission. The Gold Seal of Approval acknowledges the hospital's commitment to meeting certain performance standards. 

Our medical staff includes more than 600 physicians and allied health professionals who practice in a wide range of specialties and use advanced medical technology. LWRMC is conveniently located near I-75 and University Parkway in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

Specialty Centers

Emergency Department – LWRMC provides a 24/7 emergency department (ED) that is fully prepared to treat patients of all ages for a wide array of illnesses and injuries. ED physicians and staff are experienced in managing health emergencies and dedicated to providing high-quality emergency care. A new freestanding ED in Sarasota, ER at Fruitville, opened in 2020.

Surgical Services – The hospital offers highly developed inpatient and outpatient surgical services, including traditional and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Surgeons at LWRMC utilize advanced surgical technology, including the daVinci XI® robotic system, 7D Surgical® navigation system and intraoperative fluoroscopy.

Orthopaedic Spine and Joint Center – Fellowship-trained spine and orthopaedic surgeons work alongside specially trained orthopaedic nurses and physical therapists at the Orthopaedic Spine and Joint Center. Patients undergoing joint replacement and spinal procedures benefit from perioperative education and group therapy classes. LWRMC has earned the Joint Commission certification for hip and knee replacement, a testament to our commitment to safe and effective patient care.

Cardiovascular Services – We offer a range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterization, echocardiography and stress testing. The heart catheterization lab includes a STEMI program that provides coronary interventions for patients who may experience a heart attack. LWRMC has received a Chest Pain Center accreditation with PCI from the American College of Cardiology.

Women's Center – The Women’s Center provides family-centered care throughout the childbirth process. Family-style birthing suites provide a private, comfortable and secure environment with homelike surroundings during labor and after childbirth. Family-focused education programs and support groups are provided for expectant families and those with newborns.

LWRMC has started a $3 million renovation project on the Women's Center that is expected to finish in early 2021. The new center will present a more spa-like atmosphere and expand access to maternity care in the Lakewood Ranch community.

Breast Health Center – The Breast Health Center offers comprehensive screening and diagnostic breast healthcare services. It has earned the distinction of Breast Imaging Center of Excellence from the American College of Radiology, placing it in the top percentage of all breast health centers in the nation.

Sleep Center – Using advanced technology, the Sleep Center treats a wide range of sleep disorders, including snoring, sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome.

Imaging and Radiology – The Imaging Department uses advanced digital equipment to perform services such as prostate MRIs, whole-breast ultrasounds and X-rays. The department has obtained advanced certification by the American College of Radiology in all modalities.

Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center – The Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center provides stroke treatment, prevention, intervention, rehabilitation and education. LWRMC is certified by the Joint Commission as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and earned the Get With the Guidelines®-Stroke GOLD PLUS Achievement Award.

Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine – This department treats wounds that may not heal through conventional methods. The staff includes physicians with advanced training in wound management, nurses trained in care of chronic wounds and technicians who perform noninvasive studies. Our center has been recognized as a Center of Excellence for outstanding clinical outcomes.

    The Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Foundation works to support the health needs of the Lakewood Ranch area through volunteer activities.
