Lakewood Ranch Medical Center has become the hospital of choice for many families in Manatee and Sarasota counties in Florida. Since it opened in September 2004, the hospital has earned the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission. The Gold Seal of Approval is recognized across the nation as a symbol of quality that shows the hospital's commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

Patients at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center have access to a medical staff of more than 500 physicians and allied health professionals who practice in a comprehensive range of specialties, and use the hospital's advanced medical technology. Among the members of the medical staff are surgeons whose specialties include cardiovascular, gynecological, spine and joint and reconstructive procedures.

The Emergency Department — Lakewood Ranch Medical Center provides the community with a 24/7 Emergency Department (ED) that is fully prepared to treat patients of all ages for a wide array of illnesses and injuries. Physicians and staff at the ED are highly experienced in managing health emergencies for adults and children of all ages, and are dedicated to providing the high quality emergency care.

Surgical Services — The hospital offers highly developed inpatient and outpatient surgical services, including traditional and minimally invasive surgical techniques in general surgery, vascular, urology, gynecology, spinal and neurosurgery.

The Orthopaedic Spine and Joint Center — At the Center, fellowship-trained surgeons and orthopedic physicians work alongside specially trained orthopaedic nurses and physical therapists to provide patients with collaborative orthopedic care.

Cardiovascular Services — The hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), accredited by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC). Lakewood Ranch Medical Center offers a range of cardiac services performed by experienced medical professionals, including such diagnostic services as heart catheterization, stress testing, echocardiography and EKG.

The Women and Children's Center — The Center provides the comprehensive medical services women need for a lifetime of good health, whether it's gynecology and urology; advanced 3-D mammography in the Breast Health Center or obstetrics, labor and delivery

The Breast Health Center — 3-D mammograms allow physicians to examine breast tissue one layer at a time, so very small cancers can be detected during the first screening. The Center also offers breast MRI, computer-aided detection (CAD), breast ultrasound, stereotactic breast biopsy and other advanced technologies.

The Sleep Center — Lakewood Ranch Medical Center provides patients who have sleep disorders with the advanced technology and treatment they need at the Sleep Center.  The Center is designed to be a comfortable, homelike environment.

Imaging/Radiology — We provide advanced radiology services to our patients, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. These services are performed with advanced digital equipment including: digital radiology, fluoroscopy, GE 64-slice computerized tomography (CT) and Philips 16-slice scanners, picture and archiving communication systems (PACS), ultrasound, nuclear medicine and magentic resonance imaging (MRI).

Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center — The Center provides prompt, expert treatment for stroke patients as well as stroke prevention, intervention, rehabilitation and education. 

Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine — The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine uses advanced medical techniques to help the healing process for wounds that don't heal through conventional methods. The staff includes physicians with advanced training in wound management and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, nurses trained in care of chronic wounds and technicians who perform noninvasive studies and various therapies.
