Lakewood Ranch Medical Center offers a wide range of support groups:

ALS Support Group

Date: The group meets the second Wednesday of each month.

Bereavement Support Group

Date: The group meets the fourth Thursday of each month.

Little Nippers — New Parent Support Group

Join us for a weekly informal gathering for parents and their newborns. Our facilitator and other moms are available to offer support and suggestions for each other. An optional light lunch, provided by Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, is available for a small fee. No need for a reservation, just come by!

Postpartum Adjustment Support Group

This group is for women who find that the adjustment to becoming a new mother is a little more difficult than anticipated. Share, listen, cry and laugh with other new moms and a facilitator who is a Postpartum Adjustment Support Specialist. Babies and children up to age three are welcome.

Gluten-Free Support Group

The objective of this group is to help make our lives more enjoyable and safer on a gluten-free diet. We will be sharing information on gluten-free restaurants, knowledgeable doctors, food stores, food products, internet sites, books, travel and more.

Alzheimer’s Support Group

Join us for the Alzheimer's Association early-stage and younger-onset Alzheimer's and related-dementia support group. Participants can learn strategies and problem solve challenges in a confidential and supportive atmosphere.

Date: Third Friday of the month (starting September 20)

Tobacco Cessation Class

Quitting tobacco isn't easy, but finding help should be. Let us help you get the support you need from the comfort of your own home.

The group covers all forms of tobacco. Participants receive nicotine patches, gum or lozenges (for people 18 years of age and older, if medically appropriate) and educational materials.

To adhere to social distancing guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering free virtual classes. Pre-registration is required. Call 866-534-7906 to register. Once registered, you will be emailed an invite link to a Zoom conference.
