Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC) announced the expansion of its Advanced Gastroenterology Program with the introduction of Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), a minimally invasive procedure that combines endoscopy and ultrasound to obtain detailed images of the digestive tract and surrounding organs.

The addition of EUS underscores LWRMC’s commitment to providing the community with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic options close to home. This advanced technology enables physicians to better evaluate conditions of the pancreas, bile ducts, esophagus and stomach, while also supporting early detection and treatment planning for cancers and other gastrointestinal diseases.

“Introducing EUS to our program represents a significant advancement for patients in our community,” said Rob Anderson, CEO of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. “This technology not only enhances our diagnostic capabilities but also enables us to provide timely, precise and less-invasive care right here at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, eliminating the need for patients to travel outside the region for specialized testing.”

The Advanced Gastroenterology Program at LWRMC continues to grow, offering comprehensive services including colonoscopy, advanced polyp removal, ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) and now EUS. Together, these services strengthen the hospital’s ability to diagnose and treat complex gastrointestinal conditions with the latest evidence-based approaches.
