On September 1, 2019, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC) celebrated 15 years of providing healthcare services to Manatee and Sarasota Counties. In total, LWRMC has cared for more than 1,000,000 patients, conducted more than 650,000 imaging tests and delivered more than 10,000 babies. With over 550 physicians on staff and more than 550 non-physician staff members, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center continues to contribute to the health of the community, boost the local economy and serve as an employer of choice.
In 2019, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center completed its $28 million expansion project providing two new operating rooms now offering minimally invasive robotic surgery, an advanced MRI system and suite, a new CT scanner, an additional heart catheterization lab which enables electrophysiology procedures and a new location and suite for the Breast Health Center.
