The eight recipients of the 2022 nursing scholarships.
The Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Foundation (LWRMCF) awarded eight $2,000 scholarships today at a luncheon at The Grove Restaurant.
The Scholarship program began four years ago when a group of hospital volunteers reestablished the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Auxiliary with a mission of creating a new nursing scholarship program to encourage the hospital’s student nurses and inspire staff nurses to continue their nursing careers with advanced degrees. Recently, the Board restructured the Auxiliary and it is now a Foundation working to achieve the same mission.
“Our goal is to ensure that our region has the best trained healthcare workforce possible,” says Carole Cowan, President of the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Foundation. “We recognized that an advanced education is a way to help ensure that happens.”
