Joseph Hwang Named Chief Operating Officer at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center

Joseph (Joe) Hwang has been appointed Chief Operating Officer at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. “We welcome Joe’s leadership and patient-centric style," said Andy Guz, Chief Executive Officer of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. "He’s coming on board at an exciting time as the hospital is in the midst of its largest expansion to date. Joe is a strong complement to the hospital’s team.” 

Joe most recently served as Associate Administrator at the George Washington University Hospital, where he was responsible for the Patient Logistics Center, Laboratory and Transfusion Services, Rehabilitation Services, Environmental Services, Food Nutrition Services and Wound Healing and Limb Preservation. Prior to that, he served as the Assistant Administrator at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton. During his career, he has held a number of leadership roles at Lehigh Valley Health Network, where he also completed his Administrative Fellowship. He completed an Administrative Residency with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Joe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from New York Institute of Technology and a Master of Health Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.

Joe is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Manatee and is actively involved with the American Heart Association Suncoast Heartwalk. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
